My son has a gift.

Father shills his son to a talent recruiter. The son's talent being that he can "pop and lock" like he's from the 80's.  Decided to give the "Generi" rig a break and used the "LoMax" rig instead for this 11 second club animation.

One can only imagine the horrific scene they are witnessing as this question is asked...because I didn't create a scene for them to look at (I'm so lazy).

Powerdrifting Nissan 350Z animation with a surprise ending.  Well honestly if you're here, you already know the surprise, but anyways...

There's a new webpage devoted to this video and some of my past work.  Make sure you check it out here: TransZ Webpage

Wii - Wrath of Nunchuck

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.....2!!!!!!!!!

Super 78 had me do this as kind of a send off fun thing to do before I left for my new job out in Maryland.  It beat having to do actual work...  ;)

Wii - Hold on Tight

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!

A "spare time" animation done for Super 78.  Getting paid for "spare time" animation kicks butt!  Wait, doesn't that make it not a "spare time" animation?

Oh, you mean this gatekey.

Thought I would experiment a little with somewhat "subtle" (IMO) squash and stretch during an acting segment.

Freaking maya and gimbal

Just screwing around with Maya. Thought it would be funny to bring a 3d Studio Max biped into Maya and animate it, Parkour style.  I was inspired to do this animation after watching Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior.

But this place...is so sad and depressing.

After doing a bunch of happy fun stuff, thought I would try something a little more somber.  This is me going for the animation academy award.

I gonna see what time it is on the ole grandfather clock!!

Animated to an old Red Skelton radio clip...I know, I know...it's hard to understand what he says in the clip, but it was taking me forever to find an audio clip I liked, so I just picked one.

An animation test for Realm Interactive.  Had one day to rig and animate this model...this is what I turned in. Rock On!

Ooooh, scary dragonfly.

Had this model and decided to learn Max 3's bone system.  Also learned illusions to put some 2d particles in this video.

Twisted Whiskers

I did the rigging and animation for these American Greetings card company shorts.  Other people did the models, lighting and rendering.

Goosers Gets It

Goosers goes galactic in this scorching short.

When playing frisbee, beware low flying ufos.  Animated in 6 days.

Kind of a Drag

Dander's antics really take off in this short.

You wouldn't think it, but animating that rope alone took almost as long as animating everything else in the scene.

Animated in 8 days.

Yawp and Away!

Yawp's up, up and away in this twisted short.

I like how the air from the balloon actually blows more air into the dog than was in the balloon.  Gotta love cartoon physics.  Animated in 8 days.

Gettin' Jiggy

Dander taps into a bit 'o luck in this short.

This one actually went through quite a few revisions (plus dancing is always a pain to animate) so it took a little longer to complete.  I'll have to post the original version sometime.  Animated in 11 days.

You can also see and comment on it at YouTube here.

Mirror Cracked

It’s Yawp against Yawp in this distorted short.

This was the first Twisted Whisker short I worked on and it still has some timing issues.  But deadline and lack of animators were becoming a problem, so I had to speed up the animation process.  I think it’s still cute.  Animated in 11 days.

You can also see and comment on it at YouTube here.

Dancin' Paws

In this short, Dander boogies right into stardust.

Learning my lesson from Getting’ Jiggy, I simplified the dance in order to get this one done.  The music I animated to also got changed from what I animated too, but it still came out funny.

 Animated in 11 days.

Tomb Raider: Legend

Ah, thank goodness for YouTube and a rabid Lara Croft fanbase.  I didn't save any of the work I did for that game, but I found these videos of the cinematics I did for the game on TombRaiderChronicles.com.

You'll have to excuse the crappy compression quality and some are so dark that it's hard to see, but it's beats having nothing to show from that game.

Scenes for the cinematics in the game were done in two stages: An Initial phase (animated to the point where it "could" be released) and then a Polish phase.  Sometimes your scene would be given to another animator for polish (so you could potentially see the same Tomb Raider scene on a lot of demo reels).

Scenes where all animation was done by me

(Now in the interest of full disclosure, I was no longer at Crystal Dynamics when the game was released so I can't guarantee that another animator didn't tweak stuff in my scenes after I left.)

Heading for the Roof             The Stone Dais

The Key Obtained                The Postcard Business

Headset Hijack                     PrizeObtained

Scenes where I did the initial animation phase (someone else did some polish to this)

England Deaths

I only animated the snake parts of these deaths, someone else did the forklift fall sequence.  These were my favorite animations I did for this game.

Bolivia Redux

Scenes where someone else did the initial animation phase and I did the polish phase (I did some polish to other scenes too, but not enough that I would feel right including them here)

Allies Under Fire                 Shields&Maps

Bedivere's Legacy               The Queen's Story

Command Center

Break on through to the other side!

A project I did for FX channel to introduce their new lineup of fall shows.  I modeled, textured, lit, rigged and animated for this sequence.  2D effects (such as the videos, greens tint filters, etc) were done by the artists at autonomy.  I also believe another artist setup a couple other camera shots for the final piece and did some minor texture tweaking.  You can watch the unedited FX Break on Through quicktime on the Autonomy website here ~18.0 Megs.

Some of my animation work for the video game eXarch which, I think, was cancelled by NCSoft.

I looked at my website and realized there's getting to be a lack of more "realistic" video game type animations.  So here's some.
